8X10 Omega F 10X10" and 5X10" negative carrier, with 2 sheets of 5X10" glass installed along with 4 pieces of black anodized aluminum side pieces, 10x10" glass needed for printing that size, Mint-, $400. Labeled Berkey Graphic Master (same as Omega) catalog #4949-51-07, but same as above listed (since sold) Omega/Arkay cat. #423-715. If you want to print something larger than 5X10," remove the glass and the black anodized aluminum side pieces and replace with 10X10" glasses. The interior of this carrier is quite clean as are the glasses; the exterior shows some signs of having been rotated in place in the enlarger. I store it with paper between the glasses and wrapped in paper.

5X7/4X5 FLOORSTAND
OMEGA 30X40 PROFESSIONAL FLOORSTAND with height adjustable baseboard that allows making of 30X40" prints. Floorstand extremely rigid, weighs 175#, 30" high, 43" wide, 38" deep, fits 4X5 and 5X7 enlargers, literature available. You never knew an Omega could be so rigid until you mounted one on a professional floorstand. A mounting plate is built into the floorstand. $500. Frontal diagram of stand below. The enlarger column mounts onto the little projection that sits above and behind the tabletop. Find a photo of the floorstand with the D6XL listed below. It comes with the plywood shelf that I have stuff stored upon. The top is reversible; the opposite side is white.
4X5 ENLARGERS and accessories
Why the Pro Lab D6XL is my favorite Omega and one of my favorite enlargers, and why these particular D6XL's are superior to the D5 and to other D6XL's. Primarily it's the wide selection of negative carriers, the wide selection of heads and the light weight practical design. Negative carriers: The D6XL's accept current D5 style carriers and may be custom adapted to accept older D2 carriers. A Beseler negative carrier to Omega adaptor is available. Carlwen has made a wide variety of very fast and smooth operating negative carriers and some specialty negative carriers for Omega. Condit offers pin registered negative carriers for Omega. Zipper has made some great carriers for Omega. Professional Photo Products Company's Speed Carrier was also designed for the Omega. Heads: The Omega dichroic color head is a good one, with very even illumination. The Mornick color head may be used in conjunction with the Omega condenser head to give a very bright and contrasty image. Some other brands of color heads may be used on the Omega. The Ilford multigrade head made for the Omega is a great multigrade head, with equal exposure from one grade to the next. Omega has made point light source head and cold light heads. The D6 zoom condenser head is faster to operate and better sealed against dust than is the D5 condenser head. Lightweight design is plenty substantial; you'll notice how substantial when it is mounted on the Professional floorstand. The Omega is much easier to move and to ship than many enlargers. It will go by UPS whereas the Beseler 45M series and the Durst L1200 oftentimes will not. The D6XL is equivalent to the D5XL. The D6XL is slightly taller than the D5XL. The D6 takes the same lensboard/turret as the D5. The D6 does not have the sheet of metal between the uprights that the D5 has; this sheet of metal is not structural as it is attached with double sided tape. The D6 and the D5 have a ruler on the upright. The D6 has a micro focusing accessory; it is optional on the D5.

LIGHT BALANCING DIFFUSION DISK, for Omega or Beseler, 6 7/16" diameter, thicker in the center, simply replace your condensers with this or place this above or below your condensers or replace the opal plastic diffusion disk supplied with your Aristo or Zone IV cold light head. Think you don't need it? Guess again. Make a flash test by focusing on the negative plane and making a midtone grey print with no negative in the enlarger. You'll probably find that you have a serious hot spot in the center. This light balancing filter is a new item made by Glennview, available nowhere else, $50. Similar item in 5X7" format, $200. Similar item for Aristo model 810 cold light head, 8.75X10.75" in size, the largest size I can make, $350. Expect 1-2 stops less light ouput with this diffusion disk. I have one 2nd quality light balancing diffusion disk for Omega or Beseler with a chipped edge that may be placed outside the image area available for $35.

Omega D series distortion correction attachment, catalog #7439, with special revolving, tilting 4X5" negative carrier, Mint, RARE, $250. Complementary easel tilting device listed below under universal Omega accessories. Note that the 4X5 negative carrier inside the distortion correction attachment is tilted. In the 2nd photo it is also partially revolved. This combination of tilt/revolve allows you to make any kind of perspective correction. Illustrated on a D2 chassis; will work on D3/5/6 as well. Omega footswitch, power plug has outlet on top of it, for any enlarger, catalog # 7901, 10A, 125V, large Omega Red on yellow logo on face, for 2 prong household plugs, $35. At 10 Amps capacity, this has a large capacity. Although designed for an enlarger, it could be used for a drill press or whatever. I am presently using it with a lathe.
